One Sunday Service - May 26th

Next Sunday, May 26th, we are cancelling our 11A service - that means we are having our 9A service only. It's Memorial Weekend; so we are going to create some extra space in honor of the holiday and the end of the school year with just one worship service for that Sunday only.  Our 9A Service will be a full service with CTK Kids and all of our regular classes. We hope you enjoy the long weekend and help us spread the word!

On Sunday, June 2nd we will be launching new classes for CTK Youth! We are so grateful!

We would like to establish a consistent but sustainable rhythm for rotating our leaders, so if you have experience working with students either in a ministry setting or as an educator, and you would be interested in hearing more about our vision for building a CTK Youth ministry, we would love to hear from you.

Similarly, if you are the parent of a youth and you would like to hear more information, we want to hear from you as well. Please email Clint O'Kelley for more information.

Men, Women, and the Gospel.

For three evenings in April, we are going to set aside time to discuss our convictions about men and women leading in the church. We are a community committed to making room for differences in perspectives and backgrounds, so our goal for these evenings is simply to provide a theological and biblical framework for those who are wrestling with these questions. We also want to give our church the opportunity to hear directly from our leadership about how we understand this issue as it relates to the gospel of Jesus.

If you call Christ the King home or if you are simply curious to hear more about this topic, mark your calendars and plan to join us in April.

In order to make room for our guests, we will be holding our first ever "sunrise" Easter service at 7A. Please come wearing your Easter pj's or your Sunday best - and plan to join us in the fellowship hall after worship for a feast of donuts, juice and coffee.

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross, is an art installation commemorating Jesus' passion and death on the cross. There are fourteen stations, each depicting a moment on the way to Calvary through pieces of art, prayer, and reflection. The purpose of the installation is to invite "pilgrims" into a time of prayerful meditation as we journey with Jesus through his final days before the cross.

Our CTK Artists Guild has been working to create pieces of original art for this year's Stations of the Cross, which includes pieces of visual art, as well as music, poetry and more. The Stations will be available following the Maundy Thursday service and again on Good Friday. For those who wish to have more time and space to walk through the stations, they will be available from 12-2P on Good Friday.

Apostles Creed Study

The season of Lent is a time set aside by the church calendar for introspection and examination. It has also historically served as a period of learning for those intending to be baptized. For centuries the Apostles Creed has assisted the Church in both the work of examination, as well as education. We are, therefore, going to use this time to take a closer look at the Creed over four weeks in Lent. Why is it significant? What does it teach?

We will be using Apostles' Creed (Life Guide Bible Studies) by Alistair McGrath as a resource for the study, so please purchase one if you plan to attend! Space is limited so please register HERE.

Over 50's Lunch

Did you know that one of the best things happening at CTK happens on the third Sunday of every month? On the third Sunday of the month, those from CTK who are 50 yrs+ gather for lunch, spend time getting to know one another, tell stories, and relish in their cumulative coolness. If you are over 50, you should be with these people!

If you are new to the church, or simply haven't yet had an opportunity to connect with folks in a similar stage of life, these lunches are a great way to meet the best of us.

The next gathering will be this Sunday, January 21st. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to Randy Spence (469-525-6249) for more information on time/location.

Canopy Info Meeting

Next Sunday, November 19th, we will be hosting an informational meeting about Canopy NWA and how we as a church hope to partner in the good work that they are doing here in Northwest Arkansas.

Canopy’s mission is to create a community where refugees are welcomed and equipped with all they need to build new lives. We hope to support and partner with Canopy in three distinct ways:

Donations

  • We can donate furniture, as this is an almost constant need.

  • We can donate Welcome Kits–which contain everything needed to make a house a home, from bed sheets to cleaning supplies to pots and pans, etc. (Details on kits are on their website.)

Volunteering

  • Cooking a culturally appropriate meal for an incoming family

  • Buying three days of groceries for an incoming family

  • Taking someone grocery shopping or to an appointment

  • Moving: Canopy needs teams with vehicles who can move furniture from their office to a family's new home.

Co-Sponsorship

  • This would look like for one (or more) groups of at least 6 people from our congregation who will make a 6 month commitment to be the "first friends" to an incoming family.

We will be covering more details and logistics about the above partnership opportunities at the info meeting on the 19th. In the meantime, if you are curious about Canopy, and the incredible work they are doing among refugee communities in NWA you can visit their website: www.canopynwa.org
